O modelo de token do centrifuge impulsiona o centrifuge, fornecendo a estrutura necessária para executar a plataforma sem depender de um único ponto de falha, incluindo a equipe ou empresa do centrifuge, e para acelerar sua utilidade. Para isso, o centrifuge utiliza os primitivos criptoeconômicos de um token nativo chamado centrifuge token (cfg), um algoritmo de consenso de nominated-proof-of-stake que emprega o centrifuge para staking de valor, recompensas pela adoção do centrifuge e um mecanismo de governança on-chain que capacita os detentores do centrifuge a guiar o desenvolvimento do centrifuge.
